Typhoon Rai (Odette) Landfall Dec. 20, 2021

Typhoon Rai, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Odette, was a powerful and catastrophic tropical cyclone that struck the Philippines. Rai became the first Category 5-equivalent super typhoon to develop in the month of December since Nock-ten in 2016.

Rai caused severe and widespread damage throughout the Southern Philippines, killing at least 392. The typhoon was estimated to have caused at least ₱35.7 billion ($712 million) worth of damage across the Philippines.

The images are terrible.
